Rates cannot be defined for freight classes that have been configured to use the rates for another freight class (i.e. using Freight Class Cross-Referencing). Depending on the source page from which the List of Tariff Rates was accessed, a default may be established for Freight Class. Not editable in Update mode.
Equipment Type ID: The equipment type ID for the tariff rate. An equipment type must be referenced if the corresponding master charge has been configured as an Equipment Specific charge. Otherwise, equipment type must not be specified. Secondary search will only list equipment types that are eligible for rate definition. Rates cannot be defined for equipment types that have been configured to use the rates for another equipment type (i.e. using Equipment Type Cross-Referencing). If the Fuel Surcharge Charge flag for the corresponding Master Charge referred by the Charge ID is enabled, the Range ID must have exactly one range break.
Rate Code
Rate Code Control: A Rate Code can be created “on the fly” when creating a rate. Rate Code Control determines whether the corresponding value supplied for Rate Code refers to an existing Rate Code for the tariff or whether it should be used to create a new Rate Code.
Rate Code: Rate Code is mandatory for a rate. It can be modified in Update mode. Rate Code will provide the link between the Lane and Rates for the tariff. Value for a rate will refer to a valid Rate Code for the current tariff (or corresponding master tariff, if applicable).
Rate Code Description: Mandatory when creating a Rate Code for the rate “on the fly”. It will present value from the Rate Code table when Refresh or Secondary Search functionality is used.
Rating Amounts
Currency: The currency for this rate. Editable in Update mode. For a unique combination of Tariff ID / Service ID / Charge ID / Rate Code, the currency for each rate must be identical. This means that related rates for different date ranges, equipment types or freight class must be in the same currency. When currency for the rate is different from the tariff's rating currency, charge level amounts such as base, minimum, maximum and flat amount for surcharge/discount will be ignored as these are supposed to be defined at the rate level in rate currency.
Base Charge: The base charge amount for this rate. This amount will be applied in addition to charges computed based on rate ranges. Base Charge for the tariff charge will also be added to the total charge if currency for the rate is equal to the tariff rating currency. It is expressed in rating currency for the rate. Negative values are allowed.
Maximum Charge: The maximum amount that will be charged for this rate. It is expressed in rating currency for the rate. Negative values are allowed. It must be greater than or equal to the Minimum Charge.
Minimum Charge: The minimum amount that will be charged for this rate. It is expressed in rating currency for the rate. Negative values are allowed. It must be less than or equal to the Maximum Charge.
