List of User Search Configurations (Employee)

The List of User Search Configurations will allow a systems administrator to manage User Search Configurations for any Transportation Manager user.

Authorized users will be able to:

• Duplicate an existing Search Configuration for one or more Users or one or more User Groups.
• Delete an existing User Search Configuration.
• Edit search name and search tip for any existing User Search Configuration.

This function will allow administrators to make a customized version of the search criteria for a list immediately available to all system users, or to all users in a particular user group.

List

By default, the List of User Search Configurations is sorted in ascending order by User ID and then Screen Name.

Properties

The User Search Configuration Properties page will allow user to modify the Search Name or Search Tip.

Set-Up

The Set-Up User Search Configurations page will allow an existing User Screen Configuration to be copied such that it will be used by one or more users or one or more user groups.

Customize search criteria for users or user groups

Users cannot edit the actual search parameters/filter criteria using this function. The following workflow allows a system administrator to achieve this result:

1. Logon using a User ID reserved exclusively for the purpose of editing User Search Configurations.
2. Create and edit search configurations directly from the application (for example, to manage User Search Configurations for List of Load Stops, go to the search page for that function and create/update/delete Searches).
3. Logon using the system administrator ID (could be the same User ID as for step "a" but recommendation is that a different User ID should be used).
4. Using Set-Up operation, copy User Search Configurations from the User ID from step "a" to the applicable target users or user groups.

Note: If the Replace Existing check box is selected from the Set-Up User Search Configurations page, the User Search Configuration will be copied for the user (or users in the group) even when there is an existing User Search Configuration. If not selected, copy will occur only when then is no existing User Search Configuration for the user.

Note: When Set-Up is performed for a User Group, changes will apply only for the users in the User Group at the time the Set-Up operation is requested. User Search Configuration will not automatically be inherited for users subsequently enrolled in the User Group.
