Surcharges / Discounts are used by the route/rate/schedule (RR&S) module to adjust the rates defined via the Tariff Rate and/or Tariff Rate Range Step Tables. When used in this context, the Surcharge or Discount is incorporated directly into the RR&S result as returned by the Rating Engine.
Surcharges / Discounts are also used when computing amounts to be charged to Carrier Surcharge Based Customers. Customer Tariffs are not configured for this type of customer who are instead billed the amount charged by the carriers to move their shipment plus or minus an amount defined via Surcharges / Discounts.
List
The List of Surcharges / Discounts for Tariff Charges displays any surcharges and discounts associated with the selected charges. For information on icons and functionalities available on the list pages, see Web Interface lists.
Properties
The property page supports visibility to and editing of the selected charge level surcharge or discount.
