This screen displays the distance and transit time for an itinerary segment for a load, trip, or NOF. For shipments and shipment legs, this screen displays the distance and transit time between the origin and destination locations.
You can use this screen to override the values for the applicable Distance Engine for the itinerary segment. For example, you might do this if your Distance Engine data is not current, or if the distance and/or transit time is unavailable or inaccurate for a pair of shipping location addresses.
When you define an override for a shipping location address pair, any rating results for the shipment, shipment leg, load, trip, or NOF are cleared.
The Distance Engine on the Distance / Transit Time Override page is established as follows:
If the applicable shipment, shipment leg, load, trip, or NOF has a Last Rated Tariff and an override Distance Engine has been configured for this Tariff, the Distance Engine on this screen is equal to the override Distance Engine for the Tariff.
Otherwise, the Distance Engine is established based on the countries for the two locations:
If both addresses are in the same country or the addresses are in different countries but both countries refer to the same Distance Engine for Distance/Transit Time, the common Distance Engine is displayed.
Otherwise, the Distance Engine is "Internal".
The Retrieve refreshes the Distance from the designated Distance Engine.
The Tariff Service section on this page is displayed if the entity has values for Last Rated Tariff Number and Service ID. The section contains a check box with heading “Override at Tariff Service Level Active”:
In Create mode (i.e. when an applicable override does not exist at either level), the check box “Override at Tariff Service Level Active” will be editable. If the check box is not checked, the override will be generic. If the check box is checked, the entity’s Last Rated Tariff Number and Service ID are used to create a tariff service specific override.
In Update mode (i.e. an override has been defined), if Tariff Number and Service ID already exist for the override, they are displayed and are read-only, and “Override at Tariff Service Level Active” displays “Yes” and are read-only.
In Update mode (i.e. an override has been defined), if Tariff Number and Service ID do not exist for the override, the page is displayed similar to Create mode. When “Override at Tariff Service Level Active” is checked, a new is created at the tariff service level and the existing entry at the generic level is not impacted. When “Override at Tariff Service Level Active” remains unchecked, the current generic override entry is updated when the Submit button is pressed.
If the Remove Override operation is performed and overrides exist at both generic and tariff service level, the tariff service specific override is deleted and the generic override is retained. The Remove Override operation must be performed a second time (from the list or properties page) to remove both overrides.
