Total: The total distance for the load. This will reflect the sum of Loaded Distance plus Total Unloaded Distance. For loads that are not attached to a trip, it will also reflect the total of Direct Distance plus Out-of-Route Distance.
Direct: The direct distance for the load. If the Rating Type for tariff selected by load routing is Point-to-Point, then Direct Distance will be the distance from the first stop to the last stop. If Rating Type is Round-Trip, Direct Distance will be two times the distance between the origin point and the far point stop, where far point stop is the stop located the farthest from the first stop. If route is domicile-based, the origin point will be the tractor domicile. For routes that are not domicile-based, the origin point will be the first freight pickup stop. Direct Distance will not be computed for loads that are attached to a trip.
Out-of-Route: Out of route distance for the load is the difference between the Total Distance and Direct Distance. Out-of-Route Distance will not be computed for loads that are attached to a trip.
Loaded: Loaded distance for the load refers to the distance that will be traveled where trailer equipment will be partially or fully loaded. Loaded Distance will always represent the difference between Total Distance and Total Unloaded Distance.
Total Unloaded: The total unloaded distance for the load will reflect the sum of Repositioning Distance, In-Transit Total Unloaded Distance and Return-to-Origin Distance.
Unloaded Distances
Repositioning: For the first load on the trip, Repositioning Distance refers to the itinerary segments covered prior to the first pickup stop for freight. For other loads on a trip, Repositioning Distance is the incremental distance between loads required to retrieve a trailer from a domicile (that is, distance from last stop on previous load to the trailer domicile plus distance from trailer domicile to first stop on next load minus direct distance from last stop on previous load to first stop on next load). This will contain a non-zero value only when the selected carrier has domicile-managed equipment.
In-Transit Direct: This distance is applicable only for loads attached to a trip. The In-Transit Direct Unloaded Distance for a load represents the unloaded distance required to move directly from the last stop for one load to the first pick stop for the next load on the trip. Depending on the setting of the In Transit Unloaded Distance Assignment Method in the Global Settings, this distance could be attributed to the preceding load, the next load or split evenly between the two loads.
Return to Origin: This distance is applicable only when if Rating Type for tariff selected by routing is Round-Trip. If the load is attached to a trip, Return-to-Origin Distance will be applicable only for the last load on the trip's itinerary. Return-to-Origin Distance refers to the itinerary segment from the final drop stop for the load back to the origin point for the load or trip. If the carrier has domicile-managed equipment, this will represent the distance from final drop stop back to tractor domicile. Otherwise, it will be distance back to first pick-up stop for freight for the trip if load is attached to a trip, else the distance back to the first pick-up stop for freight for the load.
In-Transit Total: This distance is applicable only for loads attached to a trip. This is the total unloaded distance required to move from the load stop for the current load to the first pick-up stop for the next load on the trip's itinerary. If a stop is required at a trailer domicile between loads, the In-Transit Total Unloaded Distance will refer to the total distance required to move from the last stop for a load to a trailer domicile and then to the first stop for the next load. It will potentially differ from In-Transit Direct Unloaded Distance only when the selected carrier has domicile-managed equipment. Depending on the setting of the In Transit Unloaded Distance Assignment Method in the Global Settings, this distance could be attributed to the preceding load, the next load or split evenly between the two loads.
Other Distances
Note: These load distances are not presented on the Details tab of Load Properties.
Fixed Itinerary Distance: The distance that will be required to follow the load's itinerary from the first pick-up stop for freight to the last drop stop for freight. This distance will be recomputed each time stops for the load are built or modified. It will not include any Repositioning Distance, In-Transit Unloaded or Return-to-Origin Distances. When rating results are valid for the load, there is no practical difference between this distance and Loaded Distance. If load or trip has been successfully routed at least once, distance will be computed using the override distance engine for the tariff most recently selected by routing, if applicable. Otherwise, it will be computed using the default distance engine for the applicable country (or countries).
Total Without Trailer: This is the unloaded distance where the tractor equipment is not pulling any trailer equipment (that is, bobtailing). It is applicable only when the selected carrier has domicile-managed equipment.
Times
Total Elapsed Time: For point-to-point loads, this is total number of elapsed hours between arrival at the first stop and departure from the final stop. For round-trip loads, this is the total number of elapsed hours between arrival at the first stop and estimated return to the original point for the load after visiting all stops on the itinerary. It includes any applicable Weekend / Holiday break time.
Total Loading Time: The total loading time at all pick-up locations for this load.
Total Un-Loading Time: The total unloading time at all delivery locations for this load.
Total Driving Time: The total number of driving hours for this load. It will be computed using the override distance/transit time engine for the tariff, if one has been defined. Otherwise, it will be computed using the default distance/transit time engine for the applicable country (or countries).
Total on Duty Time: The portion of the Total Elapsed Time where driver was on duty.
Total Off Duty Time: The portion of the Total Elapsed Time where driver was off duty, excluding any Weekend / Holiday break Time.
Total Waiting Time: The total waiting time at all locations for this load.
Maximum Waiting Time at a Stop: The maximum amount of waiting time at any single stop for this load.
Weekend / Holiday Break Time: The total weekend / holiday break time for this load.
Note: These are times for carriers, excluding times for pre-loading or post-discharge internal activities.
