The following examples illustrate the use of supersede rules, using the tariff conditions and rates in the following table:
Tariff Conditions |
Rates |
*ALL |
No rate (dummy rate code) |
WGT |
$50 |
SKID |
$70 |
CUBE |
$100 |
FREI |
$120 |
INPUT |
$10/unit (variable charge depending on input value specified by user) |
ANY
With *ALL as the Charge ID, if the rule of ANY is applied to the condition of INPUT, and the charge for INPUT is greater than $0, this condition will supersede all other conditions. Note that *ALL should be the first condition in the rating sequence so that all conditions below it are considered.
GE (Greater Than)
Use this rule to have Transportation Manager return charges from other conditions that are greater than the condition/option charges to which the rule is applied. You can apply the rule to all the conditions (using the dummy condition *ALL), or to individual conditions.
Apply the rule to individual conditions by placing the conditions in the appropriate order in the rating sequence, and placing the condition with the supersede rule BELOW the conditions to be considered.
For example: If you want the conditions of WGT and SKID to be considered only if their charges are greater than the charge for INPUT, then you must place WGT and SKID above INPUT in the rating sequence. If you want to consider only WGT and SKID, and no other conditions, then you should place all other conditions below INPUT in the rating sequence.
LE (Less Than)
Use this rule to have Transportation Manager return charges from other conditions that are less than the condition/option charges to which the rule is applied. You can apply the rule to all the conditions (using the dummy condition *ALL), or to individual conditions.
Apply the rule to individual conditions by placing the conditions in the appropriate order in the rating sequence, and placing the condition with the supersede rule BELOW the conditions to be considered.
For example: If you want the conditions of WGT and SKID to be considered only if their charges are less than the charge for INPUT, then you must place WGT and SKID above INPUT in the rating sequence. If you want to consider only WGT and SKID, and no other conditions, then you should place all other conditions below INPUT in the rating sequence.
