When Shipment Leg confirmation is performed for a leg being handled by Carrier D, application will identify the Reference Number Qualifier described above based on applicable Carrier and Qualifier Entity Type. In this case, a Bill of Lading Number must be supplied as input to the confirmation process. The Bill of Lading Number must not be null and must be unique for the current carrier. Otherwise, there are will be no restrictions imposed on value assigned as Bill of Lading Number.
