For A/P routing / rating / scheduling requests invoked from Transportation Manager or Transportation Planner:
When carrier selection in the global settings is "performance", the tariff / service combinations identified by the routing / rating / scheduling (RR&S) process will be sorted in ascending order by cost after applying penalties for performance. When making a decision between carriers, the carrier with a lower performance rating will incur the penalty performance point amount for each point that the performance grade is lower than the carrier with the best performance grade. RR&S will also apply the penalty transit mode amount when the transit mode for the service is not equal to the transit mode associated with the service for the preferred tariff / service combination. RR&S will select a carrier with a lower performance rating if their cost plus the performance penalties are still less than the monetary amount for the carrier with the highest performance grade. In the case of a tie based on adjusted cost, the tariff / service combinations will be sequenced based on carrier name.
If a score has been defined at lane level, this will be the value assigned to the applicable tariff / service combination. If a value is not defined at lane level, the score at the carrier level will be used.
When carrier selection in the global settings is "cost", the tariff / service combinations identified by the routing / rating / scheduling process will be sorted in ascending sequence by cost; the carrier performance score for the carrier is not considered.
For A/R routing / rating / scheduling requests:
The tariff / service combinations identified by the routing / rating / scheduling process will be sorted in ascending sequence by cost; Carrier Performance is not considered for A/R requests.
