Worklist view

The Worklist view is a special type of cascade instance accessible from entity views using the Send to Worklist operation. Worklists may be used to gather a collection of objects from any number of entity search results into a single entity grid instance for the purpose of performing a common set of activities (or workflows). Because worklists track items by entity ID, visibility is not lost (that is, objects will not fall off the grid) due to a change in status or other filter criteria that may have been used to locate objects in a primary search result.

The following entity views support the Send to Worklist operation:

• Shipment view
• Shipment Leg view
• Stop view
• Load view
• Trip view
• Booking view

Worklist grids display the entity name and "Worklist" in the grid title.

The Send to Worklist operation will either open a new instance with the selection (if not already open for that entity type), or add the selection to the currently open instance; items appear in the order defined by the worklist instance list config.

Notes:

• For each supported entity type, only one worklist instance can be open at any time.
• Worklists inherit the operation set and list customization from the entity grid that initiates it (similar to cascade instances). After a worklist opens, it can be adjusted to suit the needs of your workflow(s).
• Customize and Search grid header operations behave the same as cascade instances in that they apply to the current worklist instance only. Search in particular applies filtering support atop objects sent to that worklist.
• The Send to Worklist operation, when selected from a worklist instance, performs a grid refresh (same as selecting grid header Refresh).
• Worklists provide a Remove operation to take selected rows out of the worklist instance. This operation performs no update to selected objects.
• When a worklist instance is closed, tracking of instance objects by ID will end.
