Configuring to support the pre-booked capacity load workflow

Configuring Transportation Manager and Transportation Planner to support Pre-booked Capacity involves the following actions:

• Under Environment > Global Settings > Controls > Rating and Scheduling tab, (Scheduling Controls section), set:
  • Keep Load Start End Dates: This option will retain a load’s Start Date/Time and End Date/Time when route/rating/scheduling results are destroyed.
  • Keep Tender When Last Shipment Removed: this option will preserve empty stops on loads in Tendered, Tender Rejected and Tender Accepted operational status assigned to specific carriers (further described below).
• Identify carriers the optimizer is to consider eligible for pre-booked capacity handling. Under System Entities > Principal > Carriers, select Properties, and on the Invoice tab, set:
  • Allow New Shipments on Load after Tender: this option is used by the optimizer to refill or extend pre-booked capacity loads.

  Note: Entity Services may be used to edit carrier profiles.

• For carriers that are set as eligible for pre-booked capacity handling (above), review and adjust the tariff/service conditions used by the optimizer to qualify available shipments against pre-booked capacity loads. These options are can be reached under System Entities > Tariff > Tariffs > Services, select Properties. The options are in the Shipment Selection for Tendered Load Extension section of the Details tab.

  Note: Tariff Services may be used to edit tariff/service properties.

• Set the dummy shipment default parameters the optimizer will use to temporarily fill empty stops with dummy shipments for the purpose of baseline rating of loads having empty stops. The optimization parameters are named:
  • DummyShipmentWeight
  • DummyShipmentVolume
  • DummyShipmentPieces
  • DummyShipmentSkids
