Skeleton Route Maintenance

Skeleton Route maintenance is supported in the Transportation Smartbench (TSB) and Entity Services for the following entity types:

Each is supported in the TSB as a primary entity; both provide search and list view support. Skeleton Routes has a properties page (Skeleton Locations are displayed in Skeleton Route properties). The screen element configuration framework is used to manage entity and operation access to authorized users.

Authorized users are able to create, duplicate, update and delete skeleton routes. Skeleton routes may be versioned much like Tariffs. Versioning is similar to duplicating; the ID remains the same and the old version (that is, the object selected as the source of the operation) is updated to expire on the day before the effective date of the new version because the effective date range for versioned skeleton routes may not overlap.

An authorized user may select one or more skeleton routes and generate a single instance of a skeleton load. This new operation prompts for a Scheduled Date value that is applied to each generated load. The time portion is acquired from the skeleton route Start Time. Selected skeleton routes must be effective and active for the Scheduled Date provided. An additional option is provided to perform Routing, Rating and Scheduling on successfully generated skeleton loads.

Cascade options are provided to support TSB navigation between skeleton routes, skeleton locations and the loads built from a skeleton route.

Users may send selected Skeleton Routes to the Map View in order to visualize the route.

To identify skeleton loads and empty loads

The Load Search page in TSB exposes Number of Shipments as a way to identify empty loads. Set Load Source to Skeleton Route or use Skeleton Route Number to filter on Loads linked to Skeleton Routes. The Skeleton Route ID and Skeleton Route Description (both user-defined values) are available to display in TSB Load lists for use with Quick filters.

Skeleton Route attributes are not exposed in Web UI search or list pages.
